The goal wasn't to determine the Top 12 teams in the country, but, as with the basketball tournament, allow conference winners outside the Power 4 (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) to participate. In that sense, I guess JMU serves more like a glorified bye for the #5 team, no?

In other news, the Packers overcoming impossible odds to be tied with the Bears so late in the game. I hope Gloop has been able to stay awake this late to watch.
