Yes. Thanks for clip, warned on watch thread about incoming but haven't worked through DVR yet. There is a lovely watch thread on SI if you don't already know and mostly informational. Always feel free to comment there but if you do post, please behave yourself. Subject 60171 Some watches take more than a year to make. At that level you're getting into only hand made (and that's another convo for another time, namely what is "hand made") or something so complex that its watchmakers take years fabricating what it took the mathematicians and astronomers days or weeks to calculate, in the case of complex astronomical timepieces. Will have to review my historical notes but think some of the original Swiss watchmakers and jewelers were chased out of France on some sort of religious persecution and settled in western Switzerland in the Lake Geneva area in the 1700s. And that is, more or less, the foundational story to Swiss Watchmaking.
