I Don't wear a watch anymore. I keep waiting for my hand to fall off from the radium dial watch I wore for years. Lol

Does your stopwatch look anything like the picture below? Casio makes fine watches from $10 cheapies through their inimitable G-Shock line and up into their high end brands. Think I got my first Casio ~age 7 in Hong Kong. It was a scientific calculator watch that would be collectable today. I currently own several Casio.

I also like dive watches and own several. Not much into scuba myself but prefer their greater water resistance and often tank-like build. You can have utility AND aesthetics plus craftsmanship in a dive watch and I don't mean the ordinary Rolex Submariner. Of course the rest depends upon your budget, bought new at best discount, or grey market, or second hand market.

Cannot speak to your experience with your son, when was that? Feel free to PM if you prefer. Am curious what he ended up with if anything? But if you were coming across many fakes then you were shopping in the wrong area or stores... (insert Canal Street Chinatown joke here). There's an old saying in the hobby that you buy the seller as much as you buy the watch.

It's interesting that since its introduction the iWatch might be among the highest selling and highest $ volume of any watch but yet is barely a blip on apple's balance sheet.

There's an argument to be made that mechanical watches are riding at a cyclical peak, especially after you randomly just sent me a 60 minutes clip, hahaha! :-) But this too shall pass... for now. -gulp-
