I don't support massive cutbacks in the civil service, therefore I cannot support Carney.

I do not support massive increases in military spending, therefore I cannot support Carney.

I do not support the virtual abandonment of the fight against climate change, therefore I cannot support Carney.

I do not support putting the BC coast in jeopardy by shipping bitumen to the coast, therefore I cannot support Carney.

Yes, he is an improvement on Trudeau in some respects (but not in others) and certainly far superior to Polievre, but that does not mean I can support him, because I vehemently oppose all the policies I listed above.

Through my life I have often been urged to enter politics, but I always knew I could never fit in with a political party precisely because I speak up about issues I disagree with rather than falling in line the way you are supposed to.

OK, time to make some pear/blackberry/raisin muffins, seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

What I am looking at is the danger China, Russia and Trump pose to the wester democracies.

The US has gone from leader of the world's democracies, to their biggest enemy, as you know.

The world today could go extinct at any moment and we need our best and brightest to navigate the new complex "Brave New world" of complex lies and plutocratic tyranny, and China!!

They, Europe, Japan, and South Korea, have been floundering before Trumps extortion and hegemony, and China's incredible power that is consuming the earth e.g. their road and belt program.

So the western democracies have to fight all three of those powers, and this means we need the best economic and political leaders we can find all working together as one!

And Carney is a champ at coordination.

Who in Canada has a greater ability to oppose those powers with their intellect, knowledge and coordinating ability?

The nations that need to come together not only respect Carney, they see him a one of the primary leaders, and he has one of the most powerful hands to play i.e. Canada's resource strength, Europe, Japan and South Korea desperately need.

The human species is at a tipping point with AI and China breathing down our necks, and a gangster president using the US power to hurt and extort the western nations.

In WWII England needed Churchill, and I maintain Canada and the world needs right now needs Carney.

Who can do the job at hand better?

China is buying cheap oil from Venezuela, Iran and Russia and selling it back to the world. It also just had a one trillion trade surplus.

My two favorite economists are Krugman and Joe Stiglitz.
