The truth is whatever the people with money and power decide it is. That's the way things are in this new age of information bombardment. It takes more time and effort than most people wish to put in to parse what is true and real and what is fiction. The amount of information people get firehosed with daily is more than our brains can handle. Moore's Law does not work on human evolution like it does with computer chips. Most people find it easier just to sidle up to their preferred biases and the feeds connected to them. For many, this makes things easier to manage.
