Next week’s price action in the S&P will hopefully help determine which of the possible scenarios pictured below might be close to what actually unfolds. The short-term bearish possibility is the one that has the 12/11 high as the wave b-of-4 top, even though it reached a much lower price and got there a little sooner than I expected. The other possibilities would be more in line with a Santa Claus rally and put the more significant selling off until January to complete wave 4. Again, all this assumes that we didn’t see the wave 4 low on 11/21.
The Dow looks like it may have already completed a wave b-of-4 top, or close to it. So maybe the stock rotation starts to begin reversing back into tech next week.
All speculation for now, but it will be an interesting week to watch for clues that might remove some of that speculation.
