Um, where did you get the idea that children aren't susceptible to COVID? Their mortality rate may be lower, but they interact with other people who might not enjoy the benefits of healthy youth. Catching COVID at school and infecting family members who later die of it is something that actually happened. Like with the Spanish flu a century before when killing your parents that way was a much bigger deal.
