And how many companies are introducing competition to MSFT's operating system this year?

Apple is introducing Rhapsody this year. Plus, Java is gradually maturing. The largest retailer of PCs, Compaq, plans to ship UNIX computers as a result of its purchase of Digital. And then there's the possibility of NCs taking off.

Besides, it's anti-competitiveness that has led to the DOJ's recent scrutiny of MSFT. I'd rather invest in a competitive, technological leader like QCOM than a technological follower that could be broken up into separate companies at any time.
