After I was fired(and immediately afterward the other two rangers I worked with were also let go), the Parks superintendent for Santa Barbara Co. transferred my former boss to park hell. He and his family were moved into a single wide in a parking lot at Hendry's Beach in Santa Barbara(think Jim Rockford's trailer). We called it Dog Shit beach because all the coeds from UCSB and the other 3 colleges would bring their dogs there and walk them up and down the beach off leash and cover the beach with dog shit. The rangers duties were 4: trash, bathrooms, pick up dog shit all day and issue tickets to beautiful SB coeds. Truly hell for a 20 something ranger. Pretty humbling given that Hendry's was a nude beach just down from the park area and need I sale anything about SB coeds back then? Now it has a ranger house, a restaurant and is considered one of the best off leash dog beaches in SoCal. My former boss left the park service after his wife divorced him, my former co-ranger was rehired at Lake Cachuma Park and rose to top man in the Dept. I was so disgusted I jump started my old school bus, drove it to my friend's house, garage saled everything I owned and moved to Hawaii. Best move I ever made. Arroyo Burro Beach(aka Hendry's)....the dogs and coeds won
