strategies before the house market crash

Burry, as you may know, was an active participant on this thread 1996-2000.

Just go to siliconinvestor.com and keep hitting the "Next" link to see what he did. I don't know if anyone's done a study of how his picks did.

One other thing about him in "The Big Short:" one he was convinced, he had the guts and capital to hold on to a position. That's the hard part.

" "discovered" a pretty solid high-growth fintech company"

Ok, thanks for mention. Got me to look at my pick of NU, of which I have a few shares tucked away in one of my smaller portfolios and which I've not recently looked at

Looking now at this Brazilian-based fintech, I roughly calculate that if company can maintain margins, and if company can meet 2026 analyst earnings projections, the stock now about $17, should reach my idea of fair value of $21 or more, sometime next year. Lot of companies looking into fintech space, so maybe the stock won't be moving up. I'll go for a few more shares on Monday.

Fwiw I also have a few shares of fintech DLocal (DLO) which operates out of Uruguay, and does some business in Brazil.

The Brazilian stock I like is ERJ. They make planes. The stock goes up. That's about what I know, and it's enough for me.

Burry has been wrong lots of times like everybody else. He may turn out to be right about one of them and he may have already reduced his short positions we dont know.

I think the Lynch strategy is a good one to some extent. In our long marriage my wife has several times made purchases that we had match her purchases with buying the same amount of stock and just held we would done spectacularly well. But there would have been some losers too- Ann Taylor comes to mind.
