You showed a concensus for 1st Q of 11 cents loss per share. This seems quite optimistic. We shall see as things unfold over the next several months. If I had to take a stab, I would have guessed closer to 40-50 cents loss, but at this point it is anyone's guess. Much will depend on how well the commercial business was rated relative to underlying costs.

DrRisk:

Entry point you have described is moderately risky with high rewards. Sometimes you may have to hold longer than originally thought. Value investing has its positives and negatives.IMHO, Overall small investors are better off with large cap value stocks. Oxford does not fit in that category.

Just heard the CC. Thanks to mailman. This was a sort of "getting to know" call. There were no earth shattering announcements. The management did not (could not) provide any guidance on 98 earnings. It will take at least 60 days to find out if investing community loves or hates the new management. I do not expect mass scale analysts ranking changes due to this conference call. In the meanwhile dispersion of earnings estimates will stay large.

Payson & Co. was comfortable with 3% premium rate increase in large groups. Sanford Bernstein analyst felt 3% increase was not sufficient for Oxford to return to profitability since they do not have full handle on actual costs.

I expect this stock to trade in a narrow range over the near term.
