One of my biggest fears was they were going to make me an alter boy and I would have to wear a dress, I didn't know a alter boy's family had to be big supporters of the church. I remember when nuns handed out little plastic Jesus's and Mary's only certain kids got one and I never did. The other problem I had I was a poor reader then maybe that's why the nun in grade 3 beat the shit out of me. My older cousins gave me their comic books and that really helped, I became an avid reader after that, I was a member of our local library and used the school's library, Before I got interested in girls I read about 250 books one school year usually Scifi or historic novels, the books had to be 200 pages or more I hated short stories because they ended too quickly.
