Thronefish,
Elon's heavy into aluminum ion batteries.
So?

The quest for a better battery has been going on for decades now. It would revolutionize a lot of things, from EVs to "renewable" energy.

There was a local high school girl over a decade ago who was a runner-up in Intel's Science Fair. She supposedly worked on an invention that used nanotubes to supercharge batteries. Imagine charging the smartphone that's in your hand right now in under a minute. That was the hope.

She was even featured on Conan O'Brien.

Fast-forward to today. It still takes a relatively long time to charge batteries. Her invention went nowhere.

But I'm sure you would have been impressed, just like you're impressed by anything Elon Musk has to say these days.
