Mike..I'm not up on the technology changes, sad to say... have been chasing some Very profitable runs in VECO, DPMI, etc. But thank you for getting us going on this.. How we configure the coming fiber networks is critical for quite a few stocks..every body from QWST (largest modern optical fiber network) to APAT (possible newest entrant into the WDM arena),... not to mention LU and CIEN, of course. I see that CIEN is bouncing back after the initial hit, and I don't see how WDM technology could be superceded any time soon... will try to get smarter.. please stay in touch...OR..let's take this over to the APAT Thread where WDM is the issue, and it is quiet. exchange2000.com. I haven't seen Gilder's references, but I think if there were something out there to compete with CIEN's WDM (and Dense WDM especially) products, it would have shown up...it doesn't seem to. From what I know RIGHT NOW...CIEN at this prices is a screaming BUY..With their growth rate, they should be at a PE of 60 on next year's earnings..of about $1.40... or $84/share... So, I don't know what is going on... Catch me on APAT or... And thanks for the "nudge" on this issue...I may have to move some capital over CIEN way...dlo
