true -- but even with those premies -- you are in very good shape compared to what many private sector retirees get. Not saying you shouldn't have paid for coverage for your service ... just that those premies aren't that bad.

I think the basic medicare premium is fine but dental Etc should be a part of the plan. I'm thinking you could get a medicare supplement plan but I could be wrong. Here's part of where I'm at - kids come home with missing body parts and are given some minor disability payout which is complete garbage. Lets offer our congressmen a couple grand per mo for life but first we get to take a chainsaw to their legs. I wonder how many would take it. I'm not sure all my assumptions are correct but....................

You're so right, a complete overhaul of the VA would be a good start and also completely eliminate all copays and such nonsensical added costs that make no sense at all... I'm very close long time friends with a retired Air Force pilot, he and his family get good benefits but I agree with you, those benefits don't even come close to a lifelong investment in serving our country... I think military service is the most noble profession anyone could ever undertake... Nothing even comes close to it... GZ
