Well, in truth, he had a 100% success rate in turning young ladies into man hating bitches in his earlier years. He looked a lot like Sean Connery in his prime so there was no lack of women who thought they could change him. One GF in particular was one of the sweetest young ladies and he was with her for several years. She wanted to marry him. She was the daughter of a Brentwood CPA who was a go to guy in Hollywood circles. I went to their home once. when my brother was "part of the family". The Dad wanted to help my brother be successful which would have been a no-brainer since his clientele included Spielberg and many other Hollywood producers, directors and singers and musicians(like Stevie Nicks). He was always having them around the house. My brother had it all and was a natural actor playing lead through HS. About 2 years after he literally trashed her life, I ran into her by chance. He had completely shattered her personality. All because of the booze. He met his wife in his early40's. She was also a hardcore alcoholic. Somehow they survived 30+ years of marriage by taking turns being sober while the other one binged. When my phone rang at 3am I always knew it would be him in some booze induced crisis.
