My schtick? Methinks thou dost protest too much.

You don't consistently tell the truth, for one. Now it very well may believe what you post is true, but when presented with pushback, you start spinning like a top. Not to mention, you often put words in other people's mouth. Maybe you don't consider that lying, but it actually is. Because that is a deliberate choice. Changing the subject and pretending you haven't isn't particularly honest and not exactly truthful.

I could go on.

The post I am responding to is a great example.

The number is the number. Whether the number is accurate or not will be indicated by the trend in a month or two.

Correct. Partial data, no real way to compare. And then...

But what it didn't do was go higher.

If the number may or may not be accurate, how do you know this? Oh...

And my wife tells me she bought eggs for $ + change yesterday.

A meaningless anecdote. Even if true, so what? A loss leader doesn't mean much. I wouldn't drive to the Woodlands to buy a dozen eggs for a buck less.

A very precise observation on price of eggs
