it's just not worth it, except maybe as an Urban Assault Vehicle for either law enforcement

Actually, it has great promise for quelling civil unrest. Put a remote controlled ma deuce on the back with some tear gas launchers, and it would be just the thing for rooting out antifa.

Didn't Tesla get a contract to uparmor some CTs?

Compared to the initial hype, Cybertrucks failed to live up to it.

I'm sure in the long run, the Cybertruck may survive as a novelty vehicle. It might even be a viable predecessor to a future electric pickup truck. Similar way Teslas made it into the mainstream.

But in terms of practicality, it's just not worth it, except maybe as an Urban Assault Vehicle for either law enforcement or people who want an edge up in road rage incidents.
I think it lived up to what the hype was about: Odd shape, drive-by-wire, the new 48v system, materials.

I'm not sure what your expectations were giving the price tag they put on it. That is a Musk-level decision that would have been based solid micro and macro economic analysis which he personally excels at.

If the inventory is as bad as the rumors have claimed, they would have stopped building them. Yet, they they still are.

Reports are now suggesting close to 40K units sold this year, which is a decent comeback and would be a significant win for CT for this year IMO given the radical political hostility your team spewed toward Musk through the first portion of the year.

I think it'll be okay.
