>>>Far be it for a humble small investor to talk to the AMZN power shorters, but Amazon.com is the innovator here -- and will continue to break new ground -- that's what leaders do.<<<

And that justifies a P/S ratio of 15 to 1 when the rest of the industry is selling at less than 1 to 1 ? I don't question AMZN ability to exist or even to make money in the future (well, I do a little) but rather the ridiculous valuation placed on it.

In Holland, 400 hundred years ago, everyone loved tulips and they were considered a prize possession so much so that everyone wanted to own a perfect one. They paid what would be the equivalent of tens of thousands of dollars today for one tulip bulb, because it was the one thing to have. Then one day someone said, "HEY! Its just a flower, there are lots of other nice flowers out there too!" and the price of tulips collapsed to next to nothing. It is still a beautiful flower.

AMZN is a decent concept of a company, not even profitable yet, and some say will never be. What value shall we place on it today? Have you noticed the other 35 or so booksellers on the 'net? They are nice too..............;^)
