(NASDAQ:LANZ) has announced the addition of two major orthodontic group practice accounts. The accounts have the potential to increase the company's domestic sales by over 12 percent during the next year. "We have specifically targeted group practices and plan to be very aggressive as we continue to penetrate this fast growing market within the orthodontic specialty," said Doug Miller, President and COO of Lancer Orthodontics. "Lancer is uniquely positioned to profitably capture a substantial portion of this market due to its improved manufacturing efficiencies and lower overhead. The group practice market is a fast growing market segment due to the need by the profession to consolidate and reduce overall costs." At the same time the Company also announced two new product additions: glow-in-the-dark chains and ties and dimpled arch wires. It is estimated that over 70% of orthodontic treatments have been initiated for patients between the ages of 9 and 18. The glow-in-the-dark chains and ties are designed to increase patient compliance and make treatment more enjoyable for this younger market segment. Lancer's new dimpled arch wires are designed to enhance overall treatment by enabling orthodontists to more accurately position the arch wire. In addition, once the dimpled arch wire is in place, it does not move. This increases the orthodontist's efficiency by eliminating the need for adjustments. The Company expects its new products to enhance its position in the market place. Lancer Orthodontics develops, manufactures and markets advanced orthodontic products worldwide.
