The news itself doesn't seem that substantial 'a few weeks' to assemble the information isn't much, although there is then the delay while the FDA considers it. Given the run-up, it's very understandable that many decided to lockin profits. The trading on pre-released information is another matter however. I wish the CEO would comment on that. It should be a scandal, but it's commonplace.

Over a year ago a friend of mine who works for a big pharma was bemoaning that they often didn't do experiments that would be scientific interesting and might have commercial merit because 'if a technician doesn't come in one weekend and animals die, then this must be explained to the FDA over and over again.' He wasn't criticizing his company or the FDA; just an unfortunate fact of life. Perhaps some animals died over a weekend because a thermostat failed, or for some other reason. The FDA might request more details of such an incident.

<<anybody on this thread who was taken a little too lightly?>>

Even though a light weight on this thread spoke of dead animals many months ago, there is as yet no evidence that his allegations are related to the FDA request for more information.
