8 million people have left Venezuela — Map shows where they’re all living now.

This map, created by The World in Maps, shows the number of Venezuelans living outside their country in mid-2025.

By 2025, Venezuela had reached 8 million Venezuelans living abroad, representing more than 20% of all Venezuelans. Although emigration is currently declining compared to the numbers reached between 2017 and 2023, the number of Venezuelans leaving their country continues to exceed the number of Venezuelans who decide to return.

The map shows the main Venezuelan communities outside Venezuela:

  • Colombia, with 2,810,358 Venezuelans.
  • Peru, with 1,662,889 Venezuelans.
  • The United States, with 759,664 Venezuelans.
  • Chile, with 729,000 Venezuelans.
  • Spain, with 700,769 Venezuelans.
  • Brazil, with 672,894 Venezuelans.
  • Ecuador, with 444,778 Venezuelans.
