Ever read much about epistemology? Despite its deceptive name, it is not the study of the epistem, it is a tail chasing branch of philosophy. Namely, the limits of knowledge. What we know and how do we know it. You descend into a world of fake barns and cows, brains in a bottle and what borders on extreme paranoia as unseen forces conspire to obscure reality. Ok, that last is a little out there, but an important aspect is trying to tease out what is actual fact and what is an opinion about a fact and if it is a fact at all.

When Trump enters the mix, I keep seeing a lot of the issues that get studied in epistemology come up. As of late, the one about a brain in a bottle with sensory information being fed to it by some external agent. How do you know what is real and what is just made up bullshit? This is an especially relevant set of questions now that the Internet is the source of sensory information for far too many.
