the safety equipment was flares and a map, no life jackets but there may have been cushions, I was on the west side of Langara Island when the boat motor conked out, bobbed for awhile and I spotted another boat shot off a couple of flares and a competitors boat came to see what was up, they radioed our lodge and the dock workers showed up towing another boat. Before my trips to Langara the only boats I had ever been on was an old wooden Gillnetter and 12 ft car toppers, since I was a lousy swimmer i always wore a life jackets on the car toppers, don't remember seeing life jackets on the Gillnetter but they were probably stored somewhere, the owner was a highs school friend, he bought the boat when he was 17. you tell me what I'm wearing Looks like a 30hp Yamaha so I was wrong before, I see a seat cushion
