The only ship I saw was a big yacht from Portland that had a copter pad, people were trolling off the back although i could see smaller boats stowed away, the only other bigger vessels were fishing boats. When. the fishing was real good we were never far from the lodge, we stayed in an area between Conihaw Rock and another point I don't remember the name of. Some trips we really had to work to get a salmon though I never got skunked, one of the reasons I was sometimes paired with someone who had no luck. That Chinese guy on the first trip almost drove us onto some rocks so I took over the rest of the way. While fighting a fish he somehow kicked the net overboard so we had to borrow one off some old guys who were watching us. It was a bit embarrassing having to tell a deck hand we lost it.
