We do on net import crude oil.

But in the end at present we export more refined liquids, than what we import on the crude side. Our refining industry is huge and a value added process.

So on net we are on the plus side and have been for a few years or more. I expect that to continue for a spell. As to LT who knows how all that will work out.

And then on net we export a lot of natural gas in the form of LNG.

Contrary to what is sometimes stated, we are at present well on the plus side, afa hydrocarbon production and net internal use. I do not personally think this is related all that much to politics and who is in office. More related to plain ole capitalism and making money. I do think Trump and co have done some positive things to lighten up the red tape load, which is pretty burdensome.
