The UK in particular has had troops in Ukraine for years now for training and as advisors. They are almost certainly not doing any fighting, if any got captured it would be a significant propaganda coup for Russia. That risk is likely to outweigh any tactical advantage having them fight would yield. Now it is true that people from various countries have been volunteering to fight for Ukraine. And the conspiracy minded no doubt have cooked up convoluted plots as to how they aren't as much volunteers as NATO sneaking troops in. Because conspiracy theories don't have to actually make sense, I suppose you can make the claim. But...
