Thean, I think there is a new wild card just introduced into the game that tilts things favorably--the merger.

IMO, that is catching a lot of attention, and could be an offset to the oil price fixation of the market. Don't forget that there are at least as many Value Funds as mo mos, and they are having a hard time finding places to put money these days.

The big deal is not how many oil outfits may be merger candidates, tho that's a factor, but the VALUE HAL saw at these levels, and their desire to expand at this time.

I think it's a sea change--not a floodtide, but a new, important value signal. (Now, where the hell is that moron who saw oil dead for 15 years??)
