She could have easily killed the agent by just accelerating forward before she backed up and hard turned to the right. Whether she had intent to harm or kill anyone is literally immaterial in the discussion. What her intent was is not part of the analysis. As for George Floyd.. why didn't he just handcuff him and put him in the police car? Floyd was cuffed and he should have been place in the car, but IIRC he was demanding he not be placed in the car, or something like that. I think Chauvin was perhaps liable for something, but a 20 year sentence was outrageous. If it had been two years (like the time served by the woman who accidently pulled her service weapon when she meant to pull her taser which resulted in the death of the driver -- details of which I don't remember much about)? Two years would have been different. But the state is troubled and it is difficult to envision a recovery anytime soon (just like California, Washington, NYC, and some other cities). The problems in Minnesota are, imo, beyond repair in the near term. How long it will take NYC to realize the slop they're in, I don't know. We've seen Cali make wrong turns before and come back from it, but I honestly sort of ignore that state since they have devolved so badly in recently years.
