I just dropped in at the park where I have a lot of friends that hang out there... green cards came up in the conversation, three of the guys are green card holders, they all said they wouldn't dare leave the country right now. One is from Sierra Leone, he is a solar energy systems installer, his stories of evading gangs that wanted to turn him into a child soldier are mind blowing. One is Somali, a genus IT systems manager, he got married in Somalia a couple of years ago.... and their dreams of bringing his wife to the are on hold, obviously. And the other is from Laos, he's a chef....he mentioned he had family in Laos that also hold green cards, but are too fearful to return. All of these guys are just the sort of people you would hope to have move to your country.
