Unstable in the sense they can be safely ignored if Russia decides to attack the United States. They have zero power. That doesn't fit the definition of "unstable". In fact, it is made up bullshit. Greenland is a member of NATO via Denmark. As is the US. An attack on the US would mean all of NATO gets involved because of Article 5. But Trump is obviously correct to point out that these things can become transitory if you don't control the area. That is only true if he wants to leave NATO. Which would be kinda stupid if your concern is Russia, given that is the reason for the alliance. But, if he wants to destroy NATO and pave the way for Russia to take Europe, it is a decent plan. So why is Trump so eager to do Putin's bidding?

Greenland and that entire area is protected by Denmark, the Nordic alliance and NATO for Christ' sake-lol! Did you think Greenland was up there all by itself-lol? And as CJ said, if you are worried about Russia, then you want to stay in NATO because that is what they were organized for. If he invades Greenland, he will have to fight the rest of NATO and be excluded from it, Which Russia would love i,e, to split the US off of NATO!
