It also accused Haaretz of 'defaming the state ... and the Zionist enterprise as a whole' Chen Maanit, Haaretz, January 13, 2026 The government on Monday filed an affidavit in the High Court of Justice in response to a petition against an order that ministries cease all contact with Haaretz because the newspaper works against the country and therefore the state was under no legal or public obligation to support it financially. The affidavit also said "the Haaretz newspaper and the articles it published in it, including in English, are used by many of those who hate Israel and antisemites on a daily basis." Haaretz
