So Colonel
or
We meat again.

I see your days with Chickerati backing are numbered. Now that we know your true purpose in coming here to SI the picture becomes very clear. I suppose that this thread is a last attempt to coax the true defenders to step forth.
Let it be known that no one will ever give you our hard won secrets about FTL ships. Star Trek has been classified for many years now to keep our hard won secrets, secret.

What strange-top-spin-blue ideas are you trying to foist off on the general public. William Gibson, David Brin, Gregory Benford. Certainly you know Dr. Tachyon ?

May your bosons ever lepton.

I like the free ranging reading you are providing regarding FTL and the physics is interesting up to the point where I just give up.

I have a theory that is really flaky.
I call it the fifth force.
We will "get it" soon.
It will be simple.

I believe that somewhere, somewhen, someone will make the same type of breakthrough that Einstein made. An elegant description which ties many things together and leads us to another level. Such breakthroughs are the backbone of our species. Standing at the edge and throwing in ballast to make a firm surface for all to stand on is day to day science, engineering if you will, it is made possible by those who leap out, giving us somewhere to go.

You may think that Einstein was wrong, time will tell, currently it just makes sense to believe him until somebody proves that he is wrong or integrates his theories within a greater conceptual framework, that works. The true test of any science is, of course, how big is the bang.

It should be quite obvious to anyone that the Enterprise goes much faster than light.
Phasers are bad, but photon torpedoes really go bang.
Spock (Science Officer) knew a lot more than Scotty (Chief Engineer).
Scotty was nicer than Spock.
Whatever happened to Nurse Chapel ?
