Eric, from the article, The court recognized that the Trump Department of Energy vindictively canceled projects for clean affordable energy that just happened to be in states disfavored by the Trump administration, in violation of the bedrock Constitutional guarantee that all people in all states have equal protection under the law. Usually when funding is cancelled for pure political retribution, there is a non-partisan reason that is conjured up by the ones in charge. But in this case, the Trump cronies didn't even bother. They tried to argue that they had the "authoritah" to cancel whatever funding they wanted to cancel based solely on Trump's whims. Once again, that electoral monarchy thingy.
