I'm not surprised you did not realize it was satire.

Studies have suggested a correlation between the ability to understand satire (and other forms of humour like sarcasm and irony) and intelligence.

Processing satire requires complex cognitive functions, including abstract thinking and social awareness, which are often indicative of intellectual sophistication.
