Yaacov. Off topic. Future use of Cpts. gg. Well, well. Welcome to the world of progress. gg. You paint a lot better picture of the future than I did in my posts. ;) But I beg your pardon. I do want to live in the 21st century. It's only 3 years away. But I do know what you are talking about. When I go to Disney World with the kids I always like to go to the GE Progress theater where they show you how GE grew along with the generations or maybe the generations grew along with GE? It looked all so peaceful back then. My parents and grandparents used to leave their doors unlocked. Hm, try this in my area today. We don't need international wars. It looks like we have them in our own back yards. Oh well, sometimes I think about what my parents would say if they saw me on this dumb computer. They tried their best to keep me inside with no luck. gg. But you know, maybe a cpt is still better than TV? At least you have to work your brain a little and you are actually talking? Isn't there a study out (that was before mass cpt. use) that says, people hardly talk to each other any more, especially in your own home in the future? The only worry I have is for my grandchildren. I do still watch some movies and some of those movies don't look too promising. What if it comes true that BIG BROTHER is watching every move you make? It is starting already today. You will walk down the street and you are on Candid Camera, maybe even in your home. Maybe the next generation will use the cpt only to make money and then spent the money on travelling? Did you say anything about neighbors? What neighbors? Just kidding. We do have them. Hm, this stuff is all quite depressing. Why are we trying to make money? Maybe so we can even make more money? Oh well, there are worse things we could be doing. I my instance I could be doing some yard work.

We keep this conversation up, someone will complain again. I better write off topic on this post. gg.

Sonny

Yaacov,

OTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTOT

No you don't sound so strange about not liking what you see ahead for the 21st century. The world has changed drastically in the few short years we have been on this earth. Cars, computers, telephones, in-door plumbing, electricity etc...

I won't say ALL progress is good. You have to take the bad with the good though. We could start a new thread about good and bad technological advances. As you know I have small children. I don't want them sitting in front of the Televisions, computers and Video games becoming vegetables with absolutely no social skills. Actually I had to go ask around for the official rules of hop-scotch for my daughter last week. <gg> If you don't know what hop-scotch is e-mail me and I'll try to explain it. You also know darn well that I enjoy and appreciate the 'old' ways of living. I however have no desire to have a cow in my back yard for milk or to take it out back to slaughter it for steaks. <gg> I'm waiting for the day when I can tell my machine what I want for dinner and it will produce it for me. Oh wait a minute maybe I already have that, my Microwave.

I don't live in a vacuum either, ok alot of people think Nebraska is some backwards country and we still ride horses to work, ok they do still have the right of way on the roads. I did enjoy my grandfathers stories of how they had to walk a mile in the snow to the 1 room school. I know he wasn't joking either, I've got the pump organ from that school. There are lots of things I wish my kids could experience from the 'old' times but also alot they won't have to like whooping cough and polio.

As far as cancer is concerned, I've decided if you pee(urinate) crooked your going to get cancer. I just refuse to live my life like doomsday is tomorrow or today. There will always be some fanatic just waiting to kill us all. It's not just Sadamm, look at what Russia is producing as far as chemical weapons, the US for that matter also. HOW STUPID DO THEY THINK WE ARE ANYWAY????? The world will always have someone to hate or blame. That's just human nature. It's just not as black and white anymore like east -vs- west.

Well my friend, we will all have a part in the 21st century like it or not. We are typing to each other right now. :-) As we have discussed before 1 person can't change the world, but we can do our best to raise our kids right. I have a feeling you'll be playing golf well into your 80's. Since your family drinks enough wine to be healthy and you can go find some good fresh air just up the mountain. <gg>

I will admit there are alot of good things that have gotten left behind with technology. I couldn't make bread from scratch if my life depended on it, well maybe if that was the case but.. As far as the local milkman the last one in town just shut down last month. We do have a few corner grocery stores around and they stay in business because they deliver and are in residential areas. We have a couple excellent butchers in those small stores too. So if that's backwards I'll stay in Nebraska, thank you very much... In the city of course.

You Have a great evening!! Enough Ramblings for now, I'm going to start sounding like Sonny. <GGGGGG>

Take Care!!

Ann
