When INTC lowers prices on chips, it's because they have been replaced by better, faster chips.

RE: Lowering of Jaz Price.

>> Michael let me ask you this. When INTC lowers prices on chips, is it because growth is declining or because INTC wants to maintain marketshare. <<

The main implication that I was making was that the lowering of Jaz1 prices was a last-minute decision for Iomega. If they would have been planning on lowering the price at this time, they would have put the new price in the ad.

It just makes me wonder "What was the motivation behind a last-minute price cut?"

Intel has never cut prices. Ponder that one for a minute and you'll arrive at the same conclusion.
