Hilarious. Gates isn't my "hero". I won't say "far from it" because there are a lot of people on that particular list who aren't named "Bill Gates". But he certainly isn't on my top 100 favs, either. Now true, I did point out the pearl clutching over some photos of him in the company of an adult woman, sporting a Breitling and dressed in Power Businesswoman Casual as being somehow scandalous was kinda stupid. Because it was. Now in this case, Bill allegedly got a STD from Russian prostitutes and wanted some discrete antibiotics for his wife. Which does raise it on the old scandal-o-meter quite a bit. There are even credible elements in it. It is totally credible that someone who could have been the star of "Revenge of the Highschool Nerds", gets rich from his tech-geekiness and goes girl-crazy. Cue Musk and his generous offers of sperm as a conversational ice breaker. It is a trope that has been done to death in movies for decades. Because, you know, it happens. And it is pretty clear that Epstein was essentially a concierge for the ultra-wealthy and powerful. So a discrete source of antibiotics would be the least of the things he could provide. Now I'd question the wisdom of said plot, but people who have transgressed against a partner often do crazy and dumb shit. So yeah, it is salacious and even plausible, unlike the last pearl clutch. But it also is a "so what?". From the info provided, there is no reason to believe that the "Russian girls" in question were underaged. They certainly wouldn't be Epstein's, having infected girls would be very bad for his reputation. As Tenchu notes, it might be related to why Melinda bailed, but other than that it isn't something I personally can get worked up about. Especially when the same data dump includes Trump raping a 13 year old.
