Steve the hurdles are the low kind.

Not the high hurdles of unknown technology. I think delay is being caused by the present TV/Media embedded base that can't really take advantage. What I mean is; let's say an GE or Westinghouse station would like to try broadcasting HDTV - at present I think they could only do one channel and few people are going to rush out and buy a receiver for one channel. So they all have to get together - so why bother they already have a politically granted lock on present airwaves and would get no more revenue from HDTV. Cable may work, but they would have to upgrade network and boxes - for not much increased revenue or really cut down on number of channels, but most are cash strapped (I think).

I know the screens are expensive, but I think that will change once people actually see an HDTV picture - their jaws will drop!

I could go on and on with wild ideas (broadcasting movies/software to read/write DVD later this year). But I won't.
