I just called Arch Crawford's hotline. (1-900-PRODIGY) Pretty interesting stuff. He's the astronomical guru of Wall Street. I don't usually call his number except when we have eclipses. We had one today and eclipses (lunar and/or solar) sometimes have effects on the markets. They usually reverse intermediate trends. He thinks we'll see a sell-off soon in the stock market and an up-trend in the gold market. Today, the gold went up a dollar coincident with the eclipse (about 1:30 pm). kitco.com I don't know if any of this holds much water but I did want to bring it to your attention in case we see a spike in gold. Just food for thought.

Barbara: ALTA filed chapter 11 .... NOT! After following ALTA for over a year now, it has been common for this small cap to NOT take off when big caps get going, but often takes off a few days later. That is one explanation. The second explanation (IMHO) is that all the other gold mines had dropped big time over the last 2 weeks and NOT ALTA. Those have therefore to catch up. From a T.A. perspective we just had two sell signals... but every indicators show continued accumulation. Let's sit down and it may take 6 months to reach 3 .... with some intermittent retractions. Right now, ALTA holds firm. No worries from this end. The rise in gold stocks without much rise in POG needs to be confirmed tomorrow. It is looking good to me. If we are on a climb before the week end, we could have a good nest week. Good luck. Fran‡ois PS: not being able to use as much margin when you gold stocks is a little bit frustrating in view of a possible coming correction. Oh! Well! not much shorting possible for me... but I am sticking with a gold play, long, at this point in time.
