Jim, I am trying to fix up my model for the 1st quarter earnings for Dell.

Your thoughts on changes to:

Revenues:1.05 x last quarter=$3.925 Billion
Gross margin: Holding at 22.0%
Shares for calculations:321/353mil last quarter,

From the May 97 quarterly report:
During the quarter Dell spent approximately $200 million to repurchase 6.6 million shares of the company's stock,......

This is actually 13.2 after the summer split. Does this mean we can approximate the shares for the calculation can be reduced by 13.2 million for the quarter coming up, resulting in approx.339.8 million shares used for the weighted diluted earnings calculation?

Pat

Who is this? Michael 'Heavy D' Dell. <gg>

Hey Jim, where the heck you been lately??? I have been busy defending the 'German' over at the CPQ thread, from the obvious attacks from this guy from Smith Barney-you know the people who makes money the old fashioned way, they steal it.<gg>

From the looks of it, I think I should have bought more Dell instead of CPQ,eh? Anyway reserve a thousand shares of Dell for me just to be on the safe side, I may wait until after Mar.6th though or until CPQ announce their Q1 earnings.<gg>

Yahoooooooooo!!!!
