Before you think about shorting altr. You better take a look at what the quality semi companies have been preforming at. ie texas instruments. Especially after upgrades from h&q and soloman smith barney.

If you're into TA, ALTR is approaching their 200 day moving average (XLNX just crossed theirs) with no sign yet of resistance. I'm not too big on TA I'm also not reluctant to take short term profits. But to take a short position on ALTR is playing with fire. I do expect a modest pull back soon but I have no idea when and where. ALTR already has a significant number of shorts, IBD just published FEB's numbers yesterday:

Feb 25: 6,505,745
Jan 27: 5,646,604

If these guys get squeezed my standard of living just might take a turn for the better.
