Yoh Maverick ! This group needs a "News Only" thread, to
help educate themselves to the fact that Compaq isn't just
another bloody CPU Box Company.

If this group can't understand -- how can we expect
the "street" to recognize this fact ??

Thanks for your outstanding work on the ASND thread.
Maybe you can do the same here.

Regards,
MM

<<Subsequently, management admitted that it saw a "tough and
challenging" period in 1998 from the Asia Pacific region due to the problems ailing those
particular economies. Accordingly, management does not expects growth from the Asian region
to match last year's expansion, which reflects and is consistent with the downgrade the stock
received today due to its perceived inventory problems. By Briefing.com.>>

Now the Asian "crisis" is killing CPQ? Right. A second-grader can read this passage and see that it is total bullsh*t. Stuffing the channel and the Asian crisis, two reasons why Compaq is going out of business. Anyone who reads this sh*t and sells deserves to die broke.

But Merrill Lynch has disagreed with SB and is maintaining its buy rating on Compaq.
