Didn't LSI say that the SEA problems would have little impact on their operations in their last conference call? And they're not that heavily into the wireless communications area are they? I wouldn't think this should impact them much except for the collateral damage of being a chip stock. But we all know that Wall Street shoots first and asks questions later.

Addi:

I am very poor determining exactly what news is in and not in a stock. RE: VLSI, they brought the estimates down from 0.39 to 0.32. Now it looks like it may be less than 0.19 (assuming earnings reduction applies to EPS).

That's a sizeable negative surprise so I would think that the stock will be hit badly. This may be the 2nd negative surprise.

If not then at the very least I expect the morning to be bad.

Impact on LSI would theoretically be null unless everyone thinks this is "Asia" but that might be pushing it. Corrigan said he did not expect any significant Asia effects for LSI. Still VLSI and LSI do share some similar end-markets - last year for example VLSI saw a slowdown for STBs and so did LSI as we later found out.
