I also believe that a lot of the people who criticize E*Trade ... are simply venting frustration about their very own poor investment decisions. It is good to finally here the pro-Etrade forces speak out.

Perhaps it is the "pro-Etrade[sic] forces", i.e. underwater longs, who are frustrated. The complaints of customers should always be taken seriously, not dismissed as their own stupidity. Poor customer service, whether you have personally experienced it or not, is a problem that, if not remedied, will cost the shareholders money. If you are a shareholder, you too should listen and take them seriously rather than dismissing them.

And just when Alex and I were getting down to some serious discussion of the investment merits of EGRP, we get an angry satisfied customer bashing the unsatisfied ones. Rabid bulls aren't going to sway currently neutral, former EGRP bears.
