<off-topic, spam>

If you have access to a shell account, the latest release of Spam Bouncer does a great job. This is high-maintainence, though, needing a Unix shell account (you can still use POP to retrieve your mail), Perl, ProcMail, and, of course, Spam Bouncer itself.

Please don't send complaints to the return addresses on spam! Most of these are bogus, and you may be hurting some innocent party by stuffing their mailbox with complaints.

See live.net for info about my own battle with a spammer. I finally wound-up collecting $800 from the spammer once I caught him. I didn't sign any legal papers releasing him from anything, so if he should start up again I'll nail his ass in court...)

There are programs that you can use with your e-mail client, as well. I use Spam Be Gone internz.com as a secondary filter. It's kinda fascinating, since it uses AI techniques and you "teach" it what you consider to be spam.
