Just saw this on Street Life.

COMPAQ LOSES A FRIEND.... A bunch of Compaq
stock--17.6 million shares--changed hands today
after Salomon Smith Barney cut its rating on the
company to "neutral." (CPQ fell 1 1/8 to 32 7/8.)
The problem? Inventory build-up, says analyst
Richard Gardner. The downgrade comes right on the
heels of Compaq's decision to spend almost $10
billion on Digital Equipment (which has the honor
of being the second worst-performing U.S. stock
over the past ten years). And Compaq's management
invoked the dreaded "A" word: Asians just won't
buy as much Compaq stuff this year. Why did any
investors have to wait for an analyst to tell them
that?

Just info don't kill the messenger

I don't bite on trolls Satyr. Give it up. He's a jerk because he doesn't do his homework (up or down).

You "know" what the "point" is ... but then again, I didn't have to tell you that --- you already knew it....

PS: Re: your #18315 -- there's a "lot" of people here that know
how to "work a thread" man...

Sheesh...<"don't shoot the messgr.", how "innocent" ... yawn.....>
