DELL COMPUTER PLANS PRODUCTION, SALES CENTER IN CHINA AS PART OF
CONTINUED GLOBAL EXPANSION

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1998--Dell Computer
Corporation (NASDAQ:DELL), the world's leading direct computer
systems company, announced today it will extend its unique,
customer-focused business model to the world's most populous country.
Dell will establish the China Customer Center to produce, sell
and provide service and technical support for the company's full range
of computer systems in that market. The center will occupy a 135,000
square-foot facility in the southern coastal city of Xiamen and begin
operating later this year. Dell's Asia-Pacific Customer Center in
Penang, Malaysia, will continue to support the company's growing
business in the balance of the region.
