DROOY is Durban Deep, the second oldest gold mine in the world (after
Homestake), which is now a consolidation of eight previous South African mines. It is
probably the gold stock with the greatest leverage to the gold price, with a high of $16
when gold was in the $400 range. To get even more leverage on this stock, you might
look at the "B" options traded on Joberg. Expire in mid-2002, trade at around
US$0.24 each, with a strike price of about US$12. These trade very thinly, but they're
a good way to get a big long-term position in the stock cheaply >>>>
