Data Dimensions Signs Three Fortune 500 Companies to Interactive Vendor Review BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Dimensions Inc. (Nasdaq: DDIM) announced today that three Fortune 500 companies, across a broad industry spectrum, have become subscribers to its Interactive Vendor Review(TM), a specialized research service that collects and makes available information on vendor millennium compliance.***** The companies include a major food manufacturer, a telecommunications company and an aeronautics manufacturer. Interactive Vendor Review is a research service, available by subscription, that collects and makes available information on the millennium compliance and readiness of third party vendor products from suppliers of products or services to user companies. Products can include hardware and software, applications, **** embedded systems and data services and can number in the thousands. Some companies can have as many as 15,000 products that fall into this category. "A single product or application which is not able to adjust to the millennium date change has the potential to render major portions of a company's operations to a standstill," said Tom Clark, president of Data Dimensions' Knowledge Transfer Division. "Even a mid-sized company has thousands of products and applications, for which the millennium compliance status needs to be determined now, so that corrective action or replacements can be initiated prior to the Year 2000." Data Dimensions researchers create a client portfolio for each subscriber to IVR that continuously updates the status of each of that client's vendors or suppliers, saving the client thousands of hours of research and months of planning time. The information is accessed through the IVR website and is available around the clock to authorized users regardless of their location. "In our experience, it has become obvious that most large companies simply don't have the in-house resources to do the necessary research and evaluation," Clark said. "IVR eliminates the need for that research capability. In that respect, it will save a big company considerable time and financial outlay." Data Dimensions, based in Bellevue, Washington, specializes in developing processes and technologies to help businesses and government agencies manage enterprise-wide technology system changes.
